WORK
The Work
Working within our central London studio, we make use of a variety of flat and hand drawn glass to create our custom made gilded glass surfaces for a range of applications including the cladding of walls, ceilings and furniture.
The process involves the laying of metal leaf, microns thick, onto the surface of the glass using a gelatine solution to create the all familiar antique mirror effect. The studio has pioneered its 'house' effect with it's etching facility which allows for the carving of imagery and patterns deep into the glass which are then infilled with a variety of metal leaf from Copper to Palladium, and metallic paints that give a startlingly lustrous quality to the finished piece
Recent Work
Recently completed commissions include edge lit gilded and carved glass mirrors for the nightclub bar at Annabel’s in Mayfair; Carved glass room dividing screens for a beach house in the Crimea; Decorative mirrors for Le Bar Americain at the Hotel de Paris, Monte Carlo; Silver gilded convex mirrors and panelling for the Blue Bar and Collins’ room at The Berkeley Hotel, Knightsbridge.
